Review of and appeals against particular decisions
Particular decisions made by Maritime Safety Queensland may be reviewed or appealed if they meet the requirements set out in Maritime Safety Queensland's legislation.
The process is as follows:
- The applicant must write to the designated reviewing officer within a set timeframe providing the grounds for the review.
- The review will either confirm the original decision or grant the application.
- Written notice will be provided to the applicant outlining the decision.
- If the review confirms the original decision, the reasons for this will be stated in the written notice.
- The applicant has the right to appeal a reviewed decision to an appropriate court.
