Revalidation of a marine licence

Some commercial marine licences are required to be revalidated periodically. The period of validity is generally five years, after which the licence will need to be revalidated.

To revalidate a licence, you will need:

Marine Information Bulletin – revalidation of commercial marine licences.

Sea service requirements for revalidation

Sea service is accrued while performing duties relevant to the level and discipline of the licence held. However, persons operating as both master and engineer may provide the minimum sea service in a dual-role capacity to facilitate revalidation.

The Marine Information Bulletin – assessment of overseas service provides information about the assessment of sea service that is completed overseas.
